I'm fascinated by the paradoxes of being human. Especially being one myself.
How I spend so much time trying to appear effortless. How I want to be seen, while carefully deciding which parts of myself to show. How I can be completely confident and deeply insecure, sometimes within the same sentence.
I don't take life too seriously. Except when I do.
And the more I recognise these contradictions in myself, the more I see them in everyone around me. Beneath all our carefully constructed versions of ourselves, we're so alike.
There's something magical about that. About connecting, inspiring each other, creating with and for one another.
Art is my way of exploring it all. The feelings behind the pose. The strange, beautiful absurdity of being alive.
For now, that means painting dogs with very human problems.
